NHS vaccinations and when to have them (please click this link for detailed information)

It's important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection, but if you or your child missed a vaccine, contact your GP to catch up.

Training and Teaching

You may be aware that most of the GPs at Danes Camp & Rillwood Medical Practice Partnership have significant experience as GP trainers providing education and clinical supervision for Medical Students and GP Registrars at Danes Camp Medical Centre.

In engaging the same GP trainers it is anticipated that Rillwood Medical Centre will also become a training practice for Medical Students and Registrars from as early as the end of April 2021.

Our qualified GP trainers will be actively involved in mentoring and supervising each clinical consultation. You will be informed if a student or registrar will be taking a role in your consultation (telephone or face-to-face) and your consent will be sought prior to them consulting with you. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality and professional conduct as all of our regularly employed clinicians.

How to securely view your medical records online.

1) Register in person at Reception. Proof of personal ID will be required.

2) Sign in at systmonline.tpp-uk.com using the username & password generated for you by the surgery.

On the 3rd May 2017 our clinical system changed from EMISWeb to SystmOne. Patients who were registered for Online Access via EMISWeb will need to contact the surgery to obtain their new log-in details and will need to bring at least one form of photo ID. New users can also register for access to the Online services. Please ask the surgery for a sign-up form and further details.

Once you are registered for the Online Service you can begin using it by going to Quick Links on the right hand side of this page and clicking on `Online Services'.

MEDICATION SAFETY: Telephone requests are not accepted at the surgery. The reasons for this are that requests over the telephone for repeat medication are often not clear and can take considerable time and effort to clarify what is needed. The preferred option is for patients to use the surgery online facility to submit requests for repeat medication as it will avoid potential confusion, transcription and medication issue errors.

Surgery Email: rillwood.k83020@nhs.net for emailed prescription requests. When ordering your repeat prescriptions please clearly state which pharmacy you wish to nominate to dispense your medicines.

To use the Online Ordering service please visit https://systmonline.tpp-uk.com and sign-in. If you don't have a log-in ask the surgery staff at Rillwood M.C. to print out your unique registration details before you visit the above website. In order to fully complete the registration process you will be required to produce proof of your personal ID.

The full range of options that are available for ordering repeat medications include:

a) using the Sysmonline.tpp-uk.com online ordering facility;

b) emailing your repeat prescription requests to rillwood.k83020@nhs.net;

c) on the right hand side of your printed prescription ticking the box against the medication item(s) that you need then forwarding this to the surgery either in person or by post;

d) filling out a repeat prescription form at the surgery and handing it at reception;

e) posting your prescription request to the surgery via the Royal Mail postal service.

Medicines for Minor Ailments - Why can't I get an NHS prescription for an Over-The Counter medicine?

NHS England has recommended that NHS medicines for minor ailments such as colds, hay fever & mild dry skin should no longer be routinely prescribed by GP surgeries. Please purchase these in future, with advice from a pharmacy if needed. More information is available at www.nhs.uk/OTCmedicines (NENE CCG Prescribing Team).

CHANGES TO PRESCRIPTION ORDERING

In line with NHS national guidance, as of 18th March 2019  Rillwood Medical Centre will no longer be able to accept prescription requests from Pharmacies or Appliance (e.g. stoma/continence) contractors for the majority of patients*.

From the 18th March 2019 patients will need to order their repeat prescriptions directly with the surgery using one of the following methods:

1)  Online via the SystmOnline website or smartphone app  (the preferred method)

2)  Email to rillwood.k83020@nhs.net

3)  By post - please provide a stamped self addressed envelope so that your completed prescription can be posted to you.

4)  Due to the CORONAVIRUS Pandemic the option of requesting or collecting prescriptions in person at the surgery is not available until further notice

If you do not as yet have a username and password for ordering your prescriptions online or you wish to re-activate your online account please contact the surgery. Proof of personal ID will be required before you can register for online access.

*Note: Specific categories of patients have been identified (see list below) where Pharmacies are allowed to continue to manage their repeat prescription requests. The categories of patients includes those on the following care registers:

1)

Dementia Register

2)

Learning Difficulties register

3)

Severe mental illness register

4)

Palliative Care register

5)

Visual Impairment – RNIB / NAB registered

NB. TO MINIMISE POTENTIAL ERRORS AND THE RISKS THAT THIS POSES TO PATIENTS WE DO NOT ACCEPT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS OVER THE TELEPHONE.

Please allow a MINIMUM of 48 hours (2 working days) when re-ordering a repeat medication for collection from the surgery, or 72 Hours (3 working days) if your prescription goes to a Chemist. Please allow extra time if a Bank Holiday is approaching.

Since June 2015 instead of being printed most prescriptions are transmitted electronically (Electronic Prescribing Service) to your preferred pharmacy. Electronic prescriptions can be transmitted to any pharmacy in England. The next time that you visit your preferred pharmacy you can let them know that you wish to nominate them as your regular pharmacy and they will be happy to set this up for you. As usual, please allow a minimum of 48 WORKING HOURS when re-ordering repeat medication and 72 HOURS if your prescription goes to a chemist.
